@recology_ @CrossrefOrg @mfenner DC different- they separate registration & deposit. So DOI can be registered, but MD deposited later.

@sjurdur @CrossRefNews Agreed. We will be launching tools to help audit metadata. Hope this inspires publishers to stop these practices.
