Upon Meth’s Door
The Southern Temple1 Excavation
In search of cheap intoxication
Scoured the Wadi2 high and low
But found no place where they could go.
The Forum’s3 prices were a fright, And the other bars were closed up tight. So the team was rather sore When they showed up upon Meth’s4 door.
He too was closing for the night, But when presented with their plight He smiled and said he’d acquiesce And welcome them to be his guests
“But,” said he, “on one condition- You see, I have a noble mission: I have a spirit, cool and clear, That’s superior to wine or beer.”
“A liquor not known in the West, But that I maintain, is far the best. I don’t like people to go back Until they’ve sampled some Arak.”
And so the team in search of booze, Knew they really couldn’t lose- For the choice that they were asked to face Was between Arak and a hard place.
